The University of Leeds was founded in 1904, but its origins go back to the nineteenth century with the founding of the Leeds School of Medicine in 1831 and then the Yorkshire College of Science in 1874.

Leeds has a dedicated International Student Office on campus which can help advise international students on all aspects of living and studying in Leeds, including housing, academic issues, finances and immigration. University libraries
Four libraries on campus provide a range of flexible study spaces, where you can work on your own, or in a group.
The Laidlaw Library, opened in 2015, has been designed for undergraduate students. It has 1,000 seats, IT zones and study facilities with the latest technology, including interactive presentation equipment.
Computers and IT
During your degree studies, you will have full access to IT services. There are over 1,700 computers across the campus, some of which are available 24/7, so you will be able to study when it suits you

Everything is all on one campus, it’s really easy to get around and there are lots of places to meet friends.
Leeds is a great place to live and our campus is only a short walk from the city centre. Leeds University Union is at the heart of our campus and our students’ social lives with over 300 clubs and societies to choose from.

Sport and fitness
The Edge is a £12m gym that has a 25m eight-lane swimming pool with a movable floor, a sauna, climbing wall, squash courts, and much more. For a small fee you can become a member of the Edge and choose from over 140 exercise classes, including Pilates, Yoga, Body Pump and Swimfit. Once you progress to Leeds, if you live in University accommodation, membership of the Edge will be included in your rent.
Clubs and societies
In your free time, you will be able to choose from over 300 clubs and societies representing a wide range of interests and
hobbies, such as football, sky-diving, chess, swimming, baking and Harry Potter.
